Iowa’s investor-owned utilities care about using clean energy sources for a sustainable future. We’re helping Iowa’s investor-owned utilities lead the way on renewable energy by supporting the Iowa Energy Plan. Iowa is already among the nation’s leaders in wind energy, and our members are working hard to bring the state more utility-grade solar projects to further grow our renewable energy leadership. Our leadership in wind energy is thanks to a commitment across stakeholder groups and local leaders to make statewide wind energy production a priority. Our leaders must maintain that focus on growing renewables like wind and solar energy the right way, with a thorough understanding of renewable sources’ value and impact. We need to ensure equal cost distributions across the grid so that utility-grade solar projects can help bring more of the benefits we’ve seen from wind energy.
