distribution company that serves approximately 900,000 customers in
five Midwestern states. The company also owns and operates electric
generation assets. Aquila provides electricity in Colorado and Missouri,
and provides natural gas service to customers in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas
and Nebraska. |

FPL
Energy Duane Arnold Energy Center is Iowa's only nuclear power plant,
which supplies enough power to provide for the annual needs of more
than 480,000 Iowa homes. FPL Group, through its subsidiary FPL Energy,
has a 70 percent ownership in DAEC. Central Iowa Power Cooperative has
a 20 percent ownership with Corn Belt Power Cooperative holding the
remaining 10 percent ownership. |

MidAmerican Energy Company is the largest utility in Iowa. MidAmerican provides service to more than
714,000 electric customers and 696,000 natural gas customers in a 10,600 square-mile area, from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to the Quad Cities area of Iowa and Illinois. |
